Our History

The hill of Guazapa, located approximately 29 km from San Salvador, the capital city of El Salvador; is a pre-Columbian settlement, with the name Guazapa meaning: Halcón Reidor River and Los Guaces River, both with valid meaning. There, in the year 1980, during the civil war in our country, while there was a confrontation between armed groups, a person who was seriously injured entrusted the writings of the preparation of a unique drink to his best friend before passing away, alongside a full bottle of this unique drink.

The Rum

It is an alcoholic drink with a concentration between 35 and 40 percent / volume. For this drink may be considered rum is necessary to comply with the following: that the alcohol has been distilled from juice or molasses from sugar cane, and have been aged in american oak barrels for at least one year.

Water Elaboration

The plant will fully work with rainwater for the production of rum. A high efficiency reverse osmosis plant will be installed.

Drinking water system will only be used for health services (or should it say sanitation services) and other minor applications.

Aged Alcohol

Molasses is purchased from several Central American suppliers and Trinidad and Tobago, which are engaged in distillation and aging of alcohol.

Rum preparation

Step 1. Dilution of aged alcohol, from 70% to 40%/35%, with high quality water that has been prepared by reverse osmosis method.

Step 2. Rest of the mixture and mixing.

Step 3. Product Quality Control: This step verifies that the product meets the specifications alcohol concentration, impurity level, color, acidity and flavor.

Step 4. Bottling, covering, labeling and placing into boxes.

Process

The process of making rum is a very clean process and no polluting by-products are generated to the environment.

Since as mentioned before, only involves the dilution of aged alcohol to a commercial grade and permitted by Salvadoran law.

Plant Operation

The operation of the plant is a silent process since only pumps are used to transfer liquids from one tank to another or for the mixing process. make the mixtures. Waste

The preparation of rum does not generate waste and if any it would be broken bottles and cardboard boxes, which are fully recyclable wastes.

Non-recyclable waste, generated by workers, will be collected and sent to a landfill once a week.

Employment generation

The following personnel will be needed for the plant operation:

  • Production: Mixing, bottling, quality control and storage.
  • Administration: Accounting, logistics, local and international procurement, marketing, sales, security, maintenance.
